Giving Thanks...The Pilgrims who celebrated the first Thanksgiving fled religious persecution in Europe to seek a better life in America. The Thanksgiving holiday was established to provide a national day of thanksgiving for all Americans.
Even if you follow no particular religion, however, Thanksgiving is a good time to count our blessings.
Whatever else you do on Thanksgiving, make it a time to say thank you to the people in your life who matter most and, if possible, to spend time in their company.
Life is short, it is the moments that count most, and many of the best moments in life are those spent with friends and family.
If distance or circumstances prevent you from spending Thanksgiving with some of the people you love, call, email, send a card or write them a letter.
If you don't already, maybe this Thanksgiving you can continue to give thanks and express gratitude by making it a daily practice- whether it be in the form of a prayer, meditation or just a simple pause and reflection at some point in your day- everyday!
Until next time...

Cosmic email...I wonderful friend of mine sent this email/info to me and I thought I'd pass it along to everyone ~
Cosmic wave occurring on Oct 17th is magnifier of THOUGHT 2 MATTER...
This is the beginning, one of many trigger events to come between now and 2013.
An ultraviolet (UV) pulse beam radiating from higher dimensions in universe-2 will cross paths with the Earth on this day.
Earth will remain approximately within this UV beam for 17 hours of your time.
This beam resonates with the heart chakra, it is radiant fluorescent in nature, blue/magenta in colour. Although it resonates in this frequency band, it is above the colour frequency spectrum of your universe-1 which you, Earth articulate in. However due to the nature of your soul and soul groups operating from Universe-2 frequency bands it will have an effect. The effect is every thought and emotion will be amplified intensely one million-fold. Yes, we will repeat, all will be amplified one millions time and more. Every thought, every emotion, every intent, every will, no matter if it is good, bad, ill, positive, negative, will be amplified one million times in strength
What does this mean? Since all matter manifest is due to your thoughts, i.e. what you focus on, this beam will accelerate these thoughts and solidify them at an accelerated rate making them manifest a million times faster than they normally would.
For those that do not comprehend - Your thoughts, what you focus on create your reality. This UV beam thus can be a dangerous tool. For if you are focused on thoughts which are negative to your liking they will manifest into your reality almost instantly. Then again this UV beam can be a gift if you choose it to be.
Mission-1017 requires approximately one million people to focus on positive, benign, good willed thoughts for themselves and the Earth and Humanity on this day. Your thoughts can be of any nature of your choosing, but remember whatever you focus on will be made manifest in a relatively faster than anticipated time frame. To some the occurrences may almost be bordering on the miracle. All we ask is positive thoughts of love, prosperity, healing, wealth, kindness, gratitude be focused on.
This UV beam comes into full affect for 17 hrs on the 17th of October 2006. No matter what time zone you are in the hours are approximately 10:17 am on the 17th of October to 1:17 am on the 18th October. The peak time will be 17:10 (5:10 pm) on the 17th October. You do not need to be in a meditative state through out this time, though would be beneficial. The main key time no matter what time zone you are in will be the peak time of 17:10 (5:10 pm).
Perhaps at this time if you can find a peaceful spot or location to focus. The optimum is out in the vicinity of grounded nature, likened to that of a large tree or next to the ocean waves.
Focus on whatever it is you desire. What is required for the benefit of all Earth and Humanity is positive thoughts of loving nature. Please forward this message to as many people as you know who will use this cosmic trigger event to focus positive, good willed thoughts. We require approximately 1-million people across globe to actively participate in this event.
Please use whatever communication mediums you have at your disposal. Reach out to as many people as possible. We require 1-million plus people at the least to trigger a shift for humanity from separation and fragmentation to one of unification and oneness. This is your opportunity to take back what is rightfully yours i.e. Peace and Prosperity for all Earth and Mankind.
This is a gift, a life line from your universe so to speak, an answer to your prayers.
What you do with it and whether or not you choose to participate is your choice.
Until next time...
To your Mind, Body & Spirit ~
Many Blessings,
Jamie Lynn

Transforming misery into meditation...
(article courtesy Osho Times/www.osho.com)
Before you can transform suffering, you will have to become a witness.
Be a witness, because if you are a witness to your suffering you will be able to absorb it..
Rather than starting by taking the whole misery of the world and absorbing it in the heart, start with your own misery.
Don’t go into the deep sea so fast; learn swimming in shallow water.
If you immediately start taking the misery of the whole existence, it will simply remain an experiment in speculation.
It can’t be real.
You can say to yourself, “Yes, I am taking the misery of the whole world,” but what do you know of the misery of the whole world?
You have not even experienced your own misery.
We go on avoiding our own misery.
If you feel miserable, you put on the TV and you become engaged.
You start reading the newspaper so that you can forget your misery, or you go to the movies, or you go to your woman or your man.
You go to the club, you go shopping… somehow to keep yourself away from yourself, so that you need not look at how much it hurts within.
People go on avoiding themselves.
What do they know of misery?
How can they think of the misery of the whole existence?
First, you have to begin with yourself.
If you are feeling miserable, let it become a meditation.
Close the doors, sit silently.
First, feel the misery with as much intensity as possible.
Feel the hurt.
Make a small experiment with your own pains, sufferings and miseries.
And once you have found the key, then you can share it with the whole existence.
Then you can take all the suffering of all the world, or all the worlds.
Before you can transform suffering, you will have to become a witness.
Be a witness, because if you are a witness to your suffering you will be able to absorb it.
If you become identified with it, you cannot absorb it.
Happiness comes and goes, unhappiness comes and goes; it is a passing show.
You are just there, a mirror reflecting it.
Life comes and goes, death comes and goes; the mirror is not affected by either.
The mirror reflects but remains unaffected; the mirror is not imprinted by either.
A great distance arises when you witness. And only in that witnessing can you become able to transform the baser metal into gold.
Only in that witnessing, do you become a scientist of the inner, a detached observer.
Then it is not a question of destroying evil in the world, but of transforming evil into something beneficial; transforming poison into nectar.
Your small heart is bigger than the whole universe, if you know what miracles it can do.
Pour out your blessings.
It is the same energy passing through your heart that becomes bliss, that becomes a blessing. Then let blessings go riding on the outgoing breath to all the nooks and corners of existence.Until next time...To your Mind, Body & Spirit ~Many Blessings,Jamie LynnP.S. Relating to others (better) through Meditation...Do you sometimes have difficulty relating to others?I do - I have teen-aged children (need I say more?!)Well, yes!...
A simple Buddhist "loving kindness" meditation technique can help us relate better to those around us (and one I think I shall start practicing more often!).
Here are some ways of going about it ~
* Relax deeply in a seated position with your spine erect* Breathe in, drawing "loving kindness" from the universe into yourself* Breathe out, directing that loving kindness with gratitude a toward particular person or group* Breathe in more loving kindness* Breathe out, directing loving kindness with blessings to a person or people you love dearly - to all those who have nurtured and nourished you* Breathe in...* Breathe out, directing loving kindness with forgiveness to people who annoy you or obstruct you, who are unkind or dismissive* Breathe in...* Breathe out, radiating the prayer - "May all people everywhere be happy"* Breathe in and give thanks for all the loving kindness you receive* Repeat as needed!
Any part of this technique can be used in any situation and be a avenue in promoting peace and harmony.
Until next time...

Meditation in Daily Life...How can we turn the mundane chores of our daily lives into a form of meditation and be uplifted? ~
Through practicing "mindfulness" -by focusing all our thoughts on what we are doing.
We can also experience a sense of spiritual enlightenment/uplift from appreciating the beauty of everything around us- as well as use meditative practices when trying to gage and understand our emotions, and we can introduce meditation techniques (such as mindfulness) into the ways in which we relate to others.
Here are a few ways in which we can bring meditation into the many aspects of our day-to-day lives:
~ Focus your mind and body completely on what you are doing at this moment- letting any distractions simply drift on by.
~ Live in the present moment as much as you can.
~ Try to see the beauty and worth in everything (and everyone) around you, as well as in everything you do- no matter how mundane.
~ Learn and try to use your "senses" to the full.
~ Develop self-awareness, and work with the connection between your emotional and physical self - noticing how certain breathing practices and posture/positions affect how you're feeling.
~ An everyday activity, such as eating - again, by taking the time to really be aware of and focus on your food and eating it- is a form of meditation that can make it more enjoyable and better on the digestive system!
"If you are doing mindfulness meditation, you are doing it with your ability to attend to the moment" ~ Daniel Goleman
